Your privacy matters. Nudge collects only the minimum information needed to deliver wellness alerts to your chosen contacts. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with third parties except as required to send SMS notifications on your behalf.

1. Who We Are

2. What Information We Collect

Nudge collects the following information, all of which you provide directly:

4. How Your Information Is Shared

We share your information only as necessary to operate the app:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Most data in Nudge is stored locally on your device and never leaves it, including your alarm configurations, wellness settings, emergency access details, and contact instructions — until a wellness alert fires.

When a wellness alert fires, your emergency access details and contact instructions are temporarily stored on our servers and made accessible to your approved contacts via a time-limited link included in the wellness alert SMS. This link and all associated data — including emergency access details and contact instructions — expire automatically after 24 hours and are permanently deleted from our servers. After expiry, the link becomes inaccessible.

Contact approval status is stored on our servers only as long as needed to verify consent before sending alerts. We do not maintain permanent records of your personal information or emergency details on our servers beyond the retention periods stated above.

Wellness alert logs displayed in the app are stored locally on your device and automatically deleted after 90 days.

Important: Because emergency access details may include sensitive information such as alarm codes and key locations, we strongly recommend reviewing and updating this information regularly and removing it from the app if you no longer wish it to be accessible to contacts in an emergency.

6. Your Contact's Privacy

When you add a contact to Nudge, we send them a single SMS invitation asking for their approval before they receive any wellness alerts. Contacts can approve or decline at any time. We will not send wellness alert SMS messages to any contact who has not explicitly approved.

If you remove a contact from the app, no further messages will be sent to them.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Our server infrastructure is hosted on Cloudflare, which maintains industry-standard security certifications.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong device passcode and keep your phone's operating system up to date.

8. Children's Privacy

Nudge is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. These rights include:

10. International Data Transfers

Nudge is developed in Australia. If you use the app outside Australia, your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where Twilio and Cloudflare operate data centres. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
